According to a report by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, the fashion industry is responsible for around 10% of global greenhouse gas emissions, with the production of synthetic fibers being a significant contributor. Furthermore, the industry's linear business model, which is based on the principles of take, make, dispose, is no longer viable, and a shift towards a circular economy is necessary. Companies like Patagonia and Reformation are leading the way in sustainable fashion, with initiatives such as using recycled materials, reducing water waste, and implementing fair labor practices.
